Stevenage Town RFC is an official RFU 02 Touch Centre
Touch Rugby or TOUCH, as it is known, is a minimal contact sport that is played worldwide by men, women and children of all ages. The game emphasizes running, agility and ball handling skills such as passing and catching.
Looking something similar to Rugby, without the tackling, scrumming, kicking and the like, the aim of the game is to score tries. Played on a flat surface, half the size of a conventional sports field, Touch rugby is “The Game taking the World by Storm”.
Touch is a non-contact version of rugby and promotes fun, fitness and friendship. Touch is easy to learn, easy to play and helps you rediscover your sporting abilities to help you get and stay fit.
Touch is open to Club members and the wider local community. We welcome male and female players of all ages (U16s play separately from adults, unless they have written permission from parents) whether you're a beginner or expert player. We play on Wednesday evenings from 5.30pm - 6.30pm. Other days will be arranged if there is the demand.
Our touch sessions are free for the first session to see if you enjoy playing and want to play regularly, and are then charged at £30 for the whole year running 1st September - 31st August, or at £5 per session if you prefer not to pay in advance.
