Welcome![]() INTRODUCTION
Stevenage Town Youth Rugby Football Club is a thriving hub of activity in the community. With ever expanding numbers the club is achieving success at all levels and cater from all ages from U7 to U19.
Having achieved the governments CLUBMARK award and the RFU's SEAL OF APPROVAL the clubs coaches and referees are all RFU qualified.
At Stevenage Town Rugby Club we are at the heart of the community and we aim to provide more than just the opportunity for playing rugby at whatever age, and encourage all the family to join in whether it’s supporting on the touchline or enjoying food and drink in our clubhouse.
For the Minis and Youth section rugby training and playing normally starts by meeting at the clubhouse on a Sunday between 9.30am to 10 am depending on whether it’s a Home or Away fixture.
As well as Sunday events, certain age groups are selected as Club Mascots on a Saturday and join in the fun on the touchline looking after water or retrieving balls for our successful 1xv Senior team.
Throughout the season events are organised, which can include parties at Halloween and Christmas along with tours near the end of the season and festivals. The season culminates at the Annual Awards Presentations organised for each age group and BBQ’s during the summer.
If you want to know more about us, the best way is to pop down and sample the atmosphere on a Sunday morning.

TEAM SUCCESS
Following the example set by the promoted 1st team, the juniors have had successes of their own. The U12 side reached their 1st ever final at the county festival, before getting narrowly beaten.
The impressive U17 side got to the final of the county cup and beat a strong Letchworth side in a scintillating match where the lead changed hands many times. Many of the players from this side will be progressing through to the senior sides this season, with a few having already represented the lower teams. Tag Festival [click for more info]
Each year the clubs runs the annual Stevenage Tag Rugby Festival, sponsored by MBDA, and each year the festival is growing. Last season saw 20 teams enter with a total of over 200 children taking part throughout the day. With each team playing at least 3 games, the tournament was a huge hit with the children and teachers. This season we aim to have all 29 primary schools taking part, with the eventual winner being crowned Champion of Stevenage.
![]() Skills Camps [click for more info]
During School holidays the rugby club runs sports camps for children from 8 to 16 years of age. These have proved very popular with parents, as it is an affordable and worthwhile activity for the children to participate in all day. At these camps the children will learn various skills and take part in a number of different sports other than rugby. During the summer holidays though, the club runs a 2 week summer rugby camp for the children at the Stevenage Town Rugby club on North Road. Here the children will learn new skills, improve existing skills, get fitter, and learn about other things such as, coaching, refereeing, health and fitness, video analysis and team building .
TOURS & FESTIVALS - click for infoEach of the teams normally go on tour this year to places such as, Newquay for the colts, Holland for the U16s, whilst the Mini section, U7-U11, all went over to the Isle of Wight festival.
