"The heart of a town lies in its people"
 

This is the club motto and also forms the ethos for how we run the club. We believe that the club wouldn’t run without the help and support of all the many volunteers who selflessly give up their time to coach, manage, referee and help around the club.

We believe that no club at our level would survive without a strong junior section. Boasting over 230 members from U7 to U19, our junior section is thriving and producing a host of senior players for the club. With the hugely successful 1st team being made up of almost all players who have come through the junior system, this goes to show how beneficial having a strong base is.

The club has carried out sterling work to achieve the governments Clubmark Award and the RFU's Seal of Approval accreditation in recognition of it's efficient well run organisation. These are awarded for development plans that the club has put in place; continual club improvement and development; and all the work carried out to ensure all coaches and helpers are CRB checked; ensuring that each team has a first aider on hand and well qualified coaches to take them through a rugby development pathway.
 
The 1st team remained unbeaten in the league during the 07/08 season and will be striving to produce the same kind of performances next season after promotion to the London 2 North league.

Over the past 3 seasons, STRFC have provided the full county squad with no less than 5 players, a great achievement for the club, with all of them playing in the English County Championship matches. Next season the club will be aiming to repeat their success in reaching the final of the County Cup, and will be aiming to finish as high in the league as possible.
As well as a successful 1st team, the club also runs 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams, which compete in the Herts/Middlesex merit tables, has regular vet’s fixtures and an emerging 5th team. These teams are a good place to play social rugby as well as being a good stepping stone for young players before moving through to the 1st team.
